Set Positive Goals and Visualize Them

 Hi TPW Fam,

Here we are, back on our journey to a positive mental attitude. The last two posts we discussed how to become an optimist, be aware of self-talk, ask better questions and employ positive affirmations. Today is all about setting positive goals and achieving them through visualization.

Learning to set goals in a way that results in a positive experience is another powerful method for building a positive attitude and raising self-esteem. Achieving goals helps you feel better about yourself, the better you feel, the more likely you are to achieve your goal.

Some guidelines:

Reframe negatives to positives 👉instead of saying “I will not eat sugar” try “I enjoy eating healthy and nutritious foods”

Make goals attainable 👉 I wrote about this for New Years and it still rings true, small attainable goals are way more effective than unrealistic goals

Be specific 👉the more clearly your goal is defined, the more likely you are to reach it

State the goal in the present 👉in order to reach your goals, you must believe you can attain it, program yourself by believe you can

Now that we have set goals, we must visualize them.

Visualizing outcomes that you want can increase your confidence. "Seeing" yourself succeed helps you believe that it can – and will – happen.

Visualization changes how our brain networks are organized, creating more connections among different regions.

Last but not least, regular visualization helps to focus your mind on what you want.

Until next time,

Morgan
